The falls consist of a 10 foot tall, 30 foot wide ledge of columnar basalt which has been eroded in somewhat of a domed manor, such that the falls begin gradually and end vertically. About 100 feet upstream lay another small sloping ledge of about 3 feet.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=8777ddca-3ea3-4bc4-97c2-7bf17397ceee&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Upper North

Upper North Falls is the first of six waterfalls along North Silver Creek within Silver Falls State Park.
